Joke aside, thanks for those two compilations.
BFN.
I think with the release of stretch Debian is moving away from being an orthodox, overly cautious distro. For example, Debian releases have always had two gcc versions - like gcc-4-8 and gcc 4-9 in Jessie. Not anymore, says Matthias Klose (Canonical/Ubuntu/Debian lead developer):ttuuxxx wrote:Ok I just got the compiler working, I also have all the desktop icons working, The compiler was a bit of a trial and error, I downloaded a 35 packages from debian and the last 3 worked. Well Now that I have a working compiler time to compile a newer version of the compiler, one that works, lol
Quite an aggressive move, especially in the light of this article:As announced a year ago [1], GCC 6 will be the default GCC for the Debian stretch release. GCC 6 is now available in testing, and can be made the default by installing the gcc/g++ packages from experimental. Known build failures are reported at [2] seen on amd64. Build failures for more architectures (but done for Ubuntu packages) can be seen at [3]. Please help fixing these issues in testing/unstable. Some help how to approach build issues can be found at [4]...

Silly me, I didn't notice this afternoon. TIA.
Thanks for that. Downloaded and been having a bit of a look.Billtoo wrote:I posted the iso and devx of Dpup Stretch 700a1 that I built
I compiled the latest Mplayer with GUI its large because it makes its own ffmpeg 16mb extracted. But it works, When I go full screen and hit esc to get out of full screen it crashes.OscarTalks wrote:Thanks for that. Wonder why we have mpv in there with a menu entry? Will gnome-mplayer work with mpv and no MPlayer? I believe SMPlayer will but I was a bit puzzled.
On my Dell Vostro with integrated intel graphics the modesetting driver loads. Earlier Puppies usually load the intel driver. I can switch to intel but there are a few font glitches.
Well done.belham2 wrote:Finally,
