Did you find that there were any particular packages you had to load, or things you had to choose in the series of questions in order to get a working iso out of "Puppy Unleashed"? Best advice I can give you on that is, "start with the default packages and use all the default options...

alsamixer in a terminal will give you an app to adjust all sound levels.

like paul says, gxine is wired up to one of them which is mildly annoying as it makes flash quite sometimes, but once you get the hang of it it's no big deal.
